This is actually my most current arrest as the arrest took place on 04/09/09. This one here was a nice journey in itself. One of our fellow bond agents from Indiana had a guy on a $7,500 bond. The problem was that he was down in Tampa, FL. So after receiving all the necessary paperwork and pictures, I go out to find this dude. Rumor apparently had it he was gonna take off to Mexico the following morning so we needed him ASAP. Allegedly this guy is facing 4 years in the Indiana Dept of Corrections.
So another agent and I go to the fugitive’s supposed tree-trimming jobsite. We notice there is some sort of yard work going on but no one is outside working at that time. So we set up across the street and begin to watch. After only about 15 mins we see the fugitive come out and begin working again.
We manage to sneak around the back of the house and enter the back yard running at full speed. In my journeys as a bounty hunter I have found that when you come running at people yelling and screaming to get down and with tazers in your hand, the fugitive’s first reaction 99% of the time is to get down. The other 1% run, but since you’re already in full speed mode you almost always catch them very quickly.
So we do that and the target seems to be shell shocked. He just has a blank stare in his face but he goes down VERY quickly. He’s taken into custody without problems. He’s then taken back to the state of Indiana and delivered to the local jail. After speaking with the fugitive, I dont believe he was going to Mexico. However, I believe firmly he had all intentions of staying in Florida and never turning himself in. But then again the fugitive was found with a nice amount of cash on him sooooo… you just never know what people will do when they know if they stay here they’re goin to prison eventually.
On a side note… NO, I didn’t take his money!! I am a big believer in Karma and I don’t need to steal people’s money whether they’re a wanted felon or not. Total bond recovered was $7,500. Sory to my readers for no picture but I will try to get it and post it..
