When family members of your friends jump bond on you

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Again, before I start… For those of you inquiring, yes we can send email notices when new capture stories are posted. Just send us an email and we’ll take care of the rest. Also, as long as I don’t get lazy, take a vacation or get killed, I will be updating this every 2 to 3 days. Thanks for your continued interest and support.

I’d also like to give a shout out to Dog the Bountyhunter who was shot at earlier this week trying to apprehend someone. It’s always those damn small bonds that almost kill ya sometimes, lol. I’ve been in ridiculous situations over small bonds sometimes.  Gotta love the Dog.

Ok….This one here was done as more of a favor than anything. This lady is the ex-sister in law of a very good friend of mine. So I bonded her on some supposed burglary and supposed possession of controlled substance charges. I didn’t really think anything bad would happen, even though her son did skip on a $60,000 DUI manslaughter charge on me. Out of respect to my buddy and the fact I think he was innocent I cannot post that capture. He’s probably an innocent kid in jail for the next 25 years.

Anyways, back to his mother… so for whatever reason she’s unable to WAKE UP for court and missed.  I go out the next morning pretty pissed off. I go and POUND on her door. Finally she comes to the door and comes outside. I go to place her under arrest and she begins to resist somewhat violently. I GENTLY put her over the hood of the car and cuff her up. I then transport her to the Hillsborough County Jail in Tampa, FL and as we’re walking in, she decides to stop walking!! What a pain in my ass! So I again gently kick her in the back of the knee and lift her arms behind her head and walk her into booking.  Geez. Total bond recovered is $12,500.

It’s never too late to turn yourself in

Before I start I’d like to ask my readers to please leave comments. I always like feedback and it’s fun for me to read your comments so please take 30 seconds after reading this and click on the comment link below the fugitives picture. Again, thank you.

Ok, This is an unexciting capture but for those of you trying to get in the buisness this story will give you some other alternatives to assist you in resolving your bondskips. Sometimes when people run they end up changing their minds but aren’t sure what to do from there. So I always suggest staying friendly to your skips, you can always get mean and nasty but there’s no going back from there.

shawn

So from what I gathered this fella was supposed to serve 6 months in the county jail. He for whatever reason decided to skip court and run to Texas. So about a month goes by and I manage to get his cell phone number. I give him a call and ask him what he wants to do about his warrant. He told me he wanted to come back but didn’t have any money. He told me he has 3 kids and wants to get this behind him.

I agree to purchase him an airline ticket and fly him back to Tampa, FL.  He flies in and I arrest him at the airport as he gets off the plane.  He’s returned to the Pinellas County Jail and later finished his sentence of 6 months with 70 days already credited.

So just a reminder to stay friendly and see if they’re willing to work with ya to resolve the warrant. Then if that doesn’t work then you get nasty. Total bond recovered $5,000.

Rough job but someones gotta do it – Finding Fugitives in Strip Clubs

Monday, April 20th, 2009

First off… I want to say happy holidays to everyone on this 20th day of April.  Also I want to say hi to my friend Joe J.  Hope your doing well.

Well this next capture was one other (guy) agents love to help me out on.  Of course the girl we bonded out turned out to be an exotic dancer… or stripper as I like to call them.  Really all I knew was her stage name and that she’s working somewhere in the Clearwater area.

So the daunting and horrifying task of hopping strip club to strip club throughout Clearwater began.  For those of you new, don’t ever do this during the weekends… it’ll cost ya a fortune in cover charges, go on Tuesdays if you’re on the West Coast of Florida, or whenever there is no cover charge.

I started with the closest club and worked my way up the highway and back down the other side.  I’d say on about our 6th club, as soon as we walked in the door I spotted her dancing on one of the many stages.  To get a positive ID, I bought a lap dance from her.  As soon as I verified the butterfly tattoo on her left butt cheek, I told her she was under arrest.

Actually, I’m just kidding!  I went to the owner and told him what was going on and he quickly took her to the dressing room and handed her over.

cover charge-$10

Bond recovered-$1,000

Getting paid to hop strip clubs-PRICELESS

Crack Today, Gone Tomorrow – A Bond Revocation Story

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

Before I start I want to let my readers know I’m going to have videos of my arrests up here soon hopefully.  Well this one was a doozy… just goes to show not only how stupid people are but how all common sense is thrown out the window when someones trying to get their next fix.

This was a bond revocation.. for those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s when the co-signer on the bond wishes to take their name off the bond and put the person back in jail. It’s meant to ONLY be used if the co-signer is fearing the person might skip court and leave them hanging to pay the bond money. Unfortunately, it’s used sometimes when a spiteful girl wants to get back at her boyfriend or vice versa, or the even more popular ex-mother in law vs. drunk ex-son in law.

For those who are new to the buisness or thinking of getting in be prepared to get drawn into people’s private lives. You’re gonna find yourself smack dab in the middle of domestic disputes and all kinds of family drama. You’ll also find yourself recieving death threats and constantly watch over your shoulder. If your not watching your back or getting death threats on a yearly basis your probably not catching any fugitives.

So… back to the story. The co-signer wanted to revoke this girls bond. I wait till she has court and go the courthouse and wait for her to finish up.  As she’s leaving the courtroom I inform her who I am and that she’s under arrest. I get her out to the parking lot and ask her if she’s got anything illegal on her. I will let them ditch any small amounts of drugs. I’m not the police and don’t really care about drugs unless it’s a large amount and not personal use. Addicts need help and intervention more than jail.

So she says no and we proceed over to the Pinellas County Jail. When I pull into sally port (caged garage where police take criminals) and park and wait for the jail to call us in she decides to tell me she has crack in her pocket!! I give her hell, one what are you doing going to court with crack on you, two you dont even have a pipe to smoke it, three why didnt you tell me this earlier.

With a bunch of cop cars around and cameras every where there’s no ditching it for her. So I walk her in the jail and she begins to try to reach in her pockets and pull out the crack. I grab her hands and forcibly walk her into the jail. Shes not only charged with possession of crack but also having contraband in a county detention facility. Those are 2 added felonies..moron. total bond recovered was $2,000.

Hiding in plain sight, I spot you, follow you and wait until you stopped to smoke… And then I apprehended you.

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

Once again, instead of going to my archives I’ll post my latest arrest as it occured on 04/13/09.

I had this kid on a small $1,513 bond. About 2 weeks ago the co-signer of the bond wanted to revoke his bond but wasn’t able to afford the fee for doing that. Since I don’t arrest people for free in most cases she was stuck on the bond. She bonded him out and she’s gonna have to see it through or pay the arrest fee. Plain and simple.

So his court date was on April 13th, 2009 and of course he decided not to go. I go out to his mommas house and set up shop. I’m there for about 2 hours when a van pulls up. About 3 mins go by and the fugitive comes out and hops in the van. I begin to follow them as the neighborhood is too rough to attempt an arrest in the streets. Within about 1 mile the van pulls into a local liquor store and the passenger goes in. The other two in the van slide the doors open and begin to smoke cigarettes.

Without hesitation, yet casually to avoid detection, another agent and I go up and quickly pull the fugitive out of the van and cuff him. He’s found with a nice size knife on him. The element of surprise caught him and he never even came close to being able to reach for his pockets.

On the way to the jail I just wanna say hi to the lovely ladies in the Jeep who gave us a taste of Mardi Gras!!  woo hoo…thanks ladies. lol. The fugitive also greatly appreciated the view before jail. He’s currently in jail on a $25,013 warrant. Total bond recovered was $1,513.

I had less than 24 hours to capture this fugitive before he tried fleeing to Mexico

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

This is actually my most current arrest as the arrest took place on 04/09/09. This one here was a nice journey in itself. One of our fellow bond agents from Indiana had a guy on a $7,500 bond. The problem was that he was down in Tampa, FL.  So after receiving all the necessary paperwork and pictures, I go out to find this dude. Rumor apparently had it he was gonna take off to Mexico the following morning so we needed him ASAP. Allegedly this guy is facing 4 years in the Indiana Dept of Corrections.

So another agent and I go to the fugitive’s supposed tree-trimming jobsite. We notice there is some sort of yard work going on but no one is outside working at that time. So we set up across the street and begin to watch. After only about 15 mins we see the fugitive come out and begin working again.

We manage to sneak around the back of the house and enter the back yard running at full speed. In my journeys as a bounty hunter I have found that when you come running at people yelling and screaming to get down and with tazers in your hand, the fugitive’s first reaction 99% of the time is to get down. The other 1% run, but since you’re already in full speed mode you almost always catch them very quickly.

So we do that and the target seems to be shell shocked. He just has a blank stare in his face but he goes down VERY quickly. He’s taken into custody without problems. He’s then taken back to the state of Indiana and delivered to the local jail.  After speaking with the fugitive, I dont believe he was going to Mexico. However, I believe firmly he had all intentions of staying in Florida and never turning himself in. But then again the fugitive was found with a nice amount of cash on him sooooo… you just never know what people will do when they know if they stay here they’re goin to prison eventually.

On a side note… NO, I didn’t take his money!!  I am a big believer in Karma and I don’t need to steal people’s money whether they’re a wanted felon or not. Total bond recovered was $7,500.  Sory to my readers for no picture but I will try to get it and post it..

You can run and hide but I will still make you pay for your bond skip without apprehending you

Monday, April 6th, 2009

I’ll give those bountyhunters just getting into the buisness another way of handling bond skips. This is another good example of resolving your bond skip issues without having to physically hunt your skips.

For whatever reason we bonded this fool out on a $513 bond. I know right??  Not even worth the $100 you make off the bond. So of course this guy misses his first court date. I wait awhile as I have 8 weeks before I have to pay the bond money to the court. I was hoping he’d get caught on his own.

About 6 and a half weeks go by and still nothing. So I call the guy’s mother who resides in Michigan. I ask her some questions and she seems to be a little nervous on the phone.  She says she hasn’t talked to her son in weeks. I’m just not buying it in this case. Sometimes, yes, but not this time.

For the next few days I keep calling her and she’s not answering the phone anymore and not returning my calls. Now I know something’s up. So I block my phone number and call. A younger male answers and I ask for “Steve”. He says he’s not here right now, he should be back soon though! Now realizing I have a $513 bond skip over 1700 miles away I can rule out flying or even driving to apprehend him as it would cost a lot more than $513.

So a few days later I call again and ask for “Steve”. Finally I get him on the phone. Lets just say after a few nasty promises and multiple F bombs I scare him enough to send me my $513. Within 4 days I recieved his money order and he still remains a fugitive till this day… but I’m not out money sooooooo…. I’m still good. Total bond recovered $513.
